SENIOR YEAR:

A. image

B. The best thing about being a senior was the thought in my brain all year that told me if I just trucked through it I could graduate and finally leave this school.

C. If I could go back and tell my freshman self anything I would most definetly tell myself to never start skipping class or smoking cigarettes, both of these things are disgustingly hard habits to kick.

D. The occupy movement really has affected me because I have gained so much knowledge and lots of new friendships with peoplel through it.

E. Rock the Forty Ounce – Leftover Crack

F. The budget project that we did in your class was really tedious but I think it will be so fucking benifical for my financial future and im so glad I learned out to do it.

G. I am proud with my attendance and all together attitude torwards school, yes I am not all that great, but I have grown a lot since sophomore and junior year.

JUNIOR YEAR:

A. image

B. Junior year was hard for multiple reasons, I did terrible sophomore year attendance wise so it was really hard to try to start going to class, even though I knew junior year was really important. I started the year strong but quickly got into the habit of not going to class again.

C  I remember all the gun problems that were happening at BHS because it was such a big deal to everyone.

D. The biggest surprise from junior year is probably the fact that I passed.

E. I remember Mr.Glaser teaching us that all mail stops in Louisville,  Kentucky before being sent anywhere.

F.  I am proud of how much I grew as an artist in junior year, it really changed me.

SOPHOMORE YEAR:

A. image

B. The biggest difference returning to Berkeley High as a sophomore was thinking I was the big dog on campus. I wasn’t a freshman anymore and I felt good about that. I quickly realized I was still underclassmen and being a sophomore didn’t mean shit.

C. A major news story I remember clearly form sophomore year was when Kyle and Prentice died in a car accident. They were in CAS and I grew up on the same street as both of them. It was an extremely intense time for everyone.

E. e.    I truthfully can’t really say I am that proud at all about anything from sophomore year, that was the year shit started going down the drain, grade wise and basically school wise.

FRESHMAN YEAR:

A. image

B.The biggest new story I remember is the presidential election. This was such an amazing election to because not only was is just an election, most of us wanted Obama to win so when he did it was remarkable.

C.I remember learning the rule of thirds in Ms.Stahls photography class. I remember this because I always knew that you weren’t supposed to put the main focus of an image in the middle of the frame but I never knew there was a specific name for it and when I found out I was juiced.

D.I think that if I could change one thing from freshman year I would have not EVER started skipping class, it became a very addictive habit for and extremely long time ans you obviously know <3

1. I do not own any credit cards because i know myself and when it comes to spending money i am terrible and i will spend money i do have. i have a debit card but i can only use the money that actually exists in my account i can overdraw.

2.

-more than 90% of college students who hold credit cards are carrying monthly credit card debt.

-This study and previous surveys find that “credit card use has snowballed in the last decade” on campus. In 2004, the average college student had $946 in credit card debt. By 2009, the average stood at more than $4,100.

-“Of the 70% of surveyed college students who carried credit cards, more than one in three of those young people had two or more cards. About half claimed to use the cards only for emergencies, with 13% saying they used the cards frequently”

3. This wider implications of this data is that there are so may college students are in debt that they never were taught to control. this is making it so hella people are in debt that they will never be able to get out off.

4.(Only 9.4% of credit-card-carrying college students paid off their debt in full each month, a sharp drop from the 32% found by a survey in 2003).

this means that barely any of the college students that have debt actually pay it back, this is really bad.

1. What is the “thing” that rich people should stop saying?

-”Well, $500,000 a Year Might Sound Like a Lot, but I’m Hardly Rich. “

2. What is your favorite of the quotes that the author used to support the premise that rich people are saying that “thing”?

“It is hard to ask more of households making $250,000 or $300,000 a year. In large parts of the country, that kind of income does not get you a big home or lots of vacations or anything else that is associated with wealth.”

“The amount that I have to reinvest in my business and feed my family is more like $600,000 … and so by the time I feed my family, I have maybe $400,000 left over …”

3. What does the author say the rich “think they are saying”?

-The author is saying that the rich people are saying they dont have infinite money and that we are all in this together.

4. What are your thoughts/opinions about what the “thing” they are saying?

i think that the rich people that think 500,000 a year isn’t a lot of money need to go to Africa and see how they are living, i think that it is disgusting that they could say we are all in this together.
5. Find an image that represents your opinions about the “thing”.

1.

-One in four Americans age 16-19 were unemployed in Febuary 2012

-The national teen unemployment rate has been above 20 percent since mid-2008

-February unemployment rate for Hispanics age 16 to 19 was 27.5 percent,

-Febuary unemployment rate for African American was more than one-third, at 34.7 percent

-Teen unemployment rate climbed from 23.2 to 23.8 percent, In the mid-2000s

“One in four Americans age 16-19 were unemployed in Febuary 2012” - This was a shock to me because i had NO idea it was that many teens that were unemployed as a whole.

2. Three effects of teen unemployment:

- Less experience in the work force

- Less earning later in life than an employed teen

- Lack of knowledge and responsibility skills

3.

- Keep minimum wage low, so prices don’t go up

- Increase minimum wage, increases economic activity and jobs

- “healthy labor market”

My thought on the topic is that being an unemployed teen with very little experience is hard let alone annoying. Its like a never ending cycle of people asking for you previous experience which you don’t have so they wont hire you and it just goes on and on and on till you get lucky enough to find a job. Its a huge issue that America needs to face and fix.
